Assistant / Associate Professor of American Church History

The Department of Church History and the History of Christian Thought at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) seeks to appoint a tenure-track, Assistant or Associate Professor in American Church History, beginning on July 1, 2020. In addition to teaching departmental courses in the Masters of Divinity, Masters of Church History, and PhD in Historical Theology programs, the successful candidate is expected to advise and mentor students, direct PhD dissertations, engage in research and publication, and provide service to the academic community. The standard teaching load is 9 credit hours per semester.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have an earned PhD in American religious history before August 2020, have received basic theological education equivalent to the MDiv degree, and be a convinced evangelical Christian. A demonstrated record of outstanding teaching and a proven research agenda with publications is expected. Preference will be shown to candidates who have significant Christian ministry experience and a vision for serving God and his people through the scholarly ministry of church history. All faculty members at TEDS are expected to affirm without reservation the school’s Statement of Faith (see http://go.efca.org/resources/documents/efca-statement-faith), Human Sexuality Statement, and Racial Reconciliation Statement.
