John F. Wilson Research Fellowship
The American Society of Church History is now accepting applications from its graduate student members for the John F. Wilson Research Fellowship, which carries a monetary amount of $1000. Endowed by Wilson’s former students, this fellowship gives priority to projects reflecting the interests and work of their professor: the religious and intellectual life in the American colonies, the relationship between church and state, and religion in contemporary America.

Make sure your ASCH membership is current - applications will not be processed without a current membership - and send an email indicating your interest in the John F. Wilson Fellowship to asch@churchhistory.org by the deadline of May 15, 2026. Please include the following documents as a single pdf attachment:
1. A letter of no more than 500 words including:
- an explanation of your research project and how it aligns with the legacy of John F. Wilson;
- a simple budget detailing how you will spend the $1000 to advance your research;
- a brief summary of the length and extent of your involvement in the ASCH.
2. A current C.V., with names and contact information for three references.
American Society of Church History Research Fellowship
The American Society of Church History is now accepting applications from its graduate student, independent scholar, and contingent faculty members for a research and travel fellowship of $1000. This fellowship supports work in any area of the history of Christianity.

Make sure your ASCH membership is current - applications will not be processed without a current membership - and send an email indicating your interest in the ASCH Research Fellowship to asch@churchhistory.org by the deadline of May 15, 2026. Please include the following documents as attachment single pdf attachment:
1. A letter of no more than 500 words including:
- an explanation of your research project, highlighting its contribution to the history of Christianity;
- a simple budget detailing how you will spend the $1000 to advance your research;
- a brief summary of the length and extent of your involvement in the ASCH.
2. A C.V., with names and contact information for three references.
When Will I Find Out?
The Graduate Student and Independent Scholars Committee will respond to proposals for these two fellowships in June of 2026.
