"American Religious History: Belief and Society through Time" Seeking Contributors
Gary Scott Smith (gssmith@gcc.edu), retired chair of the Department of History at Grove City College, is looking for contributors to his encyclopedia. See the below message for details:
I am editing a three volume encyclopedia for ABC-CLIO titled American Religious History: Belief and Society through Time. Its description is: Often controversial, religion has been an important force in shaping American culture. It was fundamental in structuring the government, has been influential in American politics, has played an enormous role in the culture wars, and continues to shape daily life. Rather than a work on particular religious beliefs, this reference explores how religion has shaped American society from the colonial era to the present.
If you are interested in contributing, please review the entries in the Headwords document and the style guide, especially Section A, General Guidelines. If you want to participate, please send me the entries you are interested in doing and your c.v. by August 10.
The entries will be due on either April 1, 2018, October 1, 2018, April 1, 2019, or October 1, 2019 depending on their length and your schedule. Please let me know which due date you prefer.
All authors will receive free access to the e-book version of the volumes. Those who write the 5,000 word thematic essays will receive $175 or CLIO dollars at a rate of 3 CLIO dollars per 1 U.S. dollar after the publication of the work.
Please also share this information with other scholars you know who may be interested. This encyclopedia will be a major aid to those studying the history of religion in America. Thank you for considering this invitation.
